Tonight was a night that I won't forget! I saw the screening of the Sami Al-Arain documentry along side a couple hundred other people. I didn't know anything about the situation before outside of what people had told me and afterwards I was left speechless. For those of you who do not know the situation it is as follows:
Sami Al Arain is a former professor at the University of South Florida and was arrested in February of 2003. He was charged with conspiracy to kill innocent israeli's by supporting the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Sami Al-Arain is a civil rights leader in the nation who met with people like George W. Bush and Hillary and Bill Clinton. He realised the key to helping out the Palestinians would be through lobbying of Congress, so he did just that. He lobbied and pushed hard for a bill that would ban using secret evidence against people in trials. He always maintained that killing innocent people is wrong, however, resisting occupation was not. Meanwhile, Al-Arain and his family were being spied on for the decade leading up to his arrest. After going to trial for six months along side 3 other "co-conspirators" and having to fight a battle against the extremely biased media, Al-Arain was found "Not- Guilty" ON EVERY CHARGE!!!!!!!!! The Government found a loopwhole because on two charges the vote was not unanimous, 10-2, so they continued to hold him and pushed for a new trial. Al-Arain signed a plea agreement and the government has not honored that. Today Al Arain, in protest of this injustice, is on his third hunger strike.
This event was attacked and attempted to shut down by the un-patriotic neo-cons of the world. If you check out their blogs they seem to think they accomplished something by getting the original theater to break their agreement to screen it. Unfortunately they don't realise that GOD is the best of planners and truth prevails. They call him a terrorist only because he is a Muslim that advocates for Palestine. Sami Al-Arain was found not guilty and the government of this country has gone against its own constitution to commit this injustice. Thomas Jefferson must be rolling in his grave.
Is this what we fought for in the Revolutionary War? Is this democracy or is it this the rise of tyranny? Bigotry will not prevail, the voices of truth and justice are louder than whatever money can buy!

Oppressed am I no more....
Their comes a time where one must say no more. No more to playing games when lives are being lost, no more to defending himself against false accusations and no more to worrying about the opinions of man when he knows that on ly God all mighty is his only constituent.
For some odd years now, the University of California Irvine(UCI) campus has been striking controversy over the many anti-israel activities that take place here. The Muslim Student Union (MSU) has tried its best to present an argument that is academic and full of truth. The response from the other side has been 3 constant counter tactics:
1. Fear- in the form of allegations of anti-semitism
2. Bribary
3. Lies, propgaganda and avoidance (I assume the 3 as one)
After a long investigation by the U.S. government the school was cleared of all anti-semitism charges.
Every year the pro-israel groups attempt to gain support with free pies, shirts, BBQ and shot glasses.
On a nearly weekly bases the campus newspaper (NewU) is full of articles from shamelessly pathetic and unknowledgable writers.
The MSU has taken many stances and made vast efforts to distinguish its discontent with the zionist, apartheid state of israel and Judaism. Yet, it is a constant cry of anti-semitism that is heard through any attempt to distinguish the two.
Recently I have embarked on a project to get the Muslim and Jewish students on this campus to come together and work towards humanitarian projects. I was told repeadetly that Jews on campus were more than happy to get together with Muslims and put the politics behind them.
At first take, this is a beautiful sign of cohesion and what looks like a new chapter in the relations on campus. However, why should any one befriend a back biter and liar. I have no problem with someone who sympathizes with israel and will argue for their case. My problem is when lies are propogated and fear is used to spit in the face of that very beautiful cohesion.
This week's New U was full of all the garbage tactics that zionists normally use. What seems to be happening is because of their lack of ability to use facts and truth to fight they have now resorted to lies and propaganda. The New U article by Aaron Elias conludes with a quote from Joe McCain: " While we (America) mourn and seethe at Sept. 11, we don't notice that israel has a Sept. 11 sometimes every day."
This maybe the most garbage statement of all time. I challenge anyone to look up the death toll of israeli's and Palestinians, look up the death toll of Iraqi's, Afghans, Sudanese and israeli's. When you do this you will find the garbage of this statement. What these zionist are trying to do is take the suffering of the Palestinians and world and make it their own. This stupid of a statement is as if Hitler said look at all the Germans dying because of the Holocaust.
One of the basic and most fundamental action of an oppressor is to try and dumb down the ones they choose to oppress. Note how zionist tactics lack any truth or logic, however, the pseudo facts sound good and are able to manipulate the thoughts of the masses. Does anyone really believe that israel has a 9/11 every day? Even the most conservative estimate of death tolls on both sides will have the israeli's at a significantly less number.
It is a sad day when any garbage like that is even taken into consideration. The MSU is not anti-semitic, in fact it embraces Judaism and Christianity. I will not stand nor should anyone stand for the irrationality and fear tactics and the newly formed tactics of false sympathy.
It is my challenge to the readers of this blog and all of humanity to take back the God given intellect and common sense you were born with. Pro-israel or not fight with the sword of truth not the paper crutch of lies.

The purpose of this blog
In the name of ALLAH, the most gracious, the most merciful
It is with this post that my blog is born. The purpose of this blog is to have a forum for me to gather my random thoughts that pass through me daily. As a college student many things cross my mind and some of it is too valuable to lose.
We are said to live in the "age of information," which means anything and everything can be found on the internet. One can learn about the basics of the cells that make up our bodies to how to build a car, and they learn this with a click of the mouse. What baffles me is that in such an age, why it is we are left ignorant and divided on many things that have no need for division. It is said that many people are ignorant of such things as politics because they are "apathetic."
In a society where everything is so accessible and information flows out of every allie and pathway and pours from the sources of distraction (TV and internet) that we are so consumed by, why is it that we stay so ignorant. In this day and age, which I call the "age of crappy information" or the "war for our opinions," information which is truth filled and comprehensive is a dream.
Why is that people have a preference in news stations or papers? Should they all not all report the same news? Why is it that blogs are a recruting grounds and a playground for those whom have a like deviation of the truth?
The problem is, we do not try and think for ourselves. As a society we are accustomed to being taught what to think instead of using our free will and common sense. To this day we celebrate Columbos Day. Was Columbos not a terrorist and murderer? Why are young children taught that he was a great explorer and a hero? Is it your aspiration for your children to become tyrants, murderers and rapists?
What I propose is that every man/woman, no matter of religion, race or favoritism, think for themselves instead of having someone do the thinking for them. If than you come to the same conclusions than that is a fair argument, however, know this; Those who use the crutch of falsehood will have it give out on them when walking the path to truth
